We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has generously donated to the crowdfunder over the last 12 weeks.
We have raised over £56,000 from 450 supporters including individuals, local businesses, charitable trusts and TB Wűlfrath. Together with the £240,000 pledged by Ware Town Council, we have raised a substantial sum towards the reopening of Fanshawe pool for the community.
This point marks the end of phase 1 of our project. Listed below are a small number of some of the things we have done during this time:
Distributed in excess of 10,000 leaflets to homes and businesses
Collated over 600 signatures on our petition against the pools closure
Appeared on BBC Three Counties Radio and LBC
Conducted a survey on the potential future use of the pool and gym
Put together a business proposal to demonstrate the pool’s commercial viability and presented it to the Board of Governors at Chauncy.
We now await a response to our proposal from the Board of Governors at Chauncy School. If they give us the green light we will move onto phase 2 which will include making arrangements for the legal structure and governance and appointing trustees .
We will continue to post updates on the progress.
