Rewarding achievement

Two members received awards from the Mark Horrod, the outgoing President of Swim Hertfordshire, for their outstanding achievements.

Mariella Thorne received a County salver in recognition of her performances at Counties this year. Achieving 3rd place across 100m Backstroke, 50m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle, narrowly missing out on a medal for 100m Freestyle - a fantastic achievement.

A testament to her dedication and effort through many hours of training in a year where there was no home pool. The coaching team should also share in the plaudits for their efforts in helping our swimmers achieve fantastic outcomes.

We are delighted that Nicola Rix, Club Secretary for Ware SC, will be President of Swim England Hertfordshire for 2026-2027. This rightful recognition of the work Nicola does across the County is richly deserved.

We are confident that her tireless work ethic, and endless hours dedicated to swimming will benefit many people across the County this year. Nicola typifies the person needed for the role, completely dedicated to swimming and wanting all swimmers to succeed.

Congratulations Nicola, we know that the County has made an excellent choice for President this year!
