Ware SC has had their best ever performance at the County Championships.
With a squad of 16 swimmers, we had 61 individual entries, winning 4 medals with some amazing performances and lots of personal bests.
Notable individual performances came from Thomas Currie, Tommy Liddiard, Archie Rann, Charles Sinclair, Maxx To and Oliver Tom, all of whom achieved personal best times. The girls team was equally strong with some stunning swims from Rachael Carpenter and Alice Field.
Archie Rann, who qualified for 12 events, came home with 2 silver medals with impressive swims in the 100m and 200m Butterfly. Alice Field had a fantastic swim in the 50m Breaststroke to win a bronze medal whilst Thomas Currie was outstanding in the 200m freestyle, also securing a bronze medal. Oliver Tom represented the club in the 400m freestyle – despite a tough heat, he had a great swim finishing just outside his PB.
We were one of the few clubs with a full squad of relay teams, all of whom produced fantastic performances. The highlight of the session was the Open Boys 200m freestyle relay final where Nick Sinclair, Toby Sinclair, Maxx To and Charles Sinclair combined to deliver a brilliant performance, finishing in 6th place. Maxx also recorded the fastest split time with an impressive 24.74 seconds.
